Pallion’s Beginnings

1951

Palloys commences operations as Palloys Refining Co in Woollahra, Sydney, Australia, founded by Felix Parry (Felix Pisarewski), a Polish war hero who arrived in Australia as a refugee after the second world war. Palloys Refining Co's business is solely related to the refining of precious metals sourced from the jewellery and dental industries.

Pallion’s Beginnings

Palloys Refining Co enters into an agreement with Matthey Garrett and shifts its focus to casting jewellery and dental components using the lost wax method. It also changes its name to Palloys.

Palloys expands its operations to service burgeoning post war jewellery demand across Australia, New Zealand, and Hong Kong.

Palloys Hong Kong commences operations in a joint venture with Wheelock Marden Limited, becoming the first company engaged in precious metal casting in Hong Kong.

Palloys conducts the assay of one of the world's largest gold natural nuggets – the Hand of Faith.

Palloys supplies mounts for Queen Elizabeth II’s Australian State Coach.

Palloys diversifies from the jewellery casting market into the manufacture and supply of fabricated alloyed precious metal in various forms: wire; sheet; solders; milled wedding rings; and precious metal refining services.

Palloys supplies gold lettering for the Australian War Memorial Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Palloys supplies the iconostas for a Black Madonna Icon presented to and blessed by Pope John Paul II.

Palloys Group launches what is to become the largest CAD/CAM jewellery rapid prototyping and manufacturing division in Australia.

Palloys Group expands its fabricated metals manufacturing base with the acquisition of P.J Williams Pty Limited by AGS Metals Pty Limited which is renamed AGS|PJW.

The Pallion Arts Program launches.  Pallion partners with contemporary artist Lindy Lee to create a gold maquette of her public sculptural work "Ouroboros." Titled "Abundance," the maquette is made from over 50 kilograms of pure ABC Bullion Australian gold and will be displayed publicly on permanent loan at the National Gallery of Australia.
