Pioneer in Precious Metal Chemistry, ABC Refinery Chief Chemist
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Ron Cook, on Sunday, December 22, 2024.
With a remarkable 50-year career in the industry, Ron was widely respected for his expertise in analytical chemistry. He dedicated 40 years to precious metals assaying and refining, where he played a pivotal role in advancing protocols for the wet chemical refining of PGMs. Ron also managed the production of key solutions for the plating industry, including Gold Potassium Cyanide, Silver Cyanide, and Palladous Chloride, as well as Silver Nitrate for the photographic industry.
Ron played a key role in establishing the ABC Refinery laboratory team and its practices. He joined Pallion in July 2015 as Chief Chemist at ABC Refinery, bringing with him extensive global leadership experience in the precious metals industry. Ron played a key role in ABC Refinery achieving accreditation from NATA, LBMA, SGE and COMEX.
Ron will be deeply missed by the entire precious metals industry. He will always be a valued member of the Pallion family.
