Lindy Lee launches Ouroboros and Abundance at the NGA in Canberra

26 October 2024

Lindy Lee’s Ouroboros and its companion creation, Abundance have now been officially unveiled at the National Gallery of Australia.

Abundance is the first artwork and collaboration of the Pallion Arts Program.

The first reference to the ouroboros was found in Tutankhamun’s tomb so it is fitting its companion Abundance has been crafted from pure ABC Bullion gold sourced from Mount Rawdon near Lindy Lee’s birthplace.

As the Federal Minister for the Arts the Honourable Tony Burke and Director of the National Gallery, Dr Nick Mitzevich communicated this week Abundance will be part of the Art Across Australia program and travel across Australia telling the inspirational story of Lindy Lee, Australian gold and Ouroboros.

To celebrate this historic moment in Australian Art, Lindy Lee has also designed her first-ever jewellery collection titled Xiaolong, meaning ‘little snake’. This collection takes its inspiration from Ouroboros and its pure ABC Bullion gold companion creation, Abundance.
