Pallion Has Always Actively Supported Artists to Work in Precious Metals
Precious metals have been used by civilisations for centuries to create art. It is Pallion’s desire to give artists the ability to continue this ancient and enduring tradition.
The Pallion Arts Program is intended to encourage artists to use precious metals in their art and provide for its display. This program is particularly important as the opportunity for artists to work in precious metals is limited because of is very high intrinsic value.
The Pallion Arts Program gives emerging, Indigenous and established Australian and international artists access to work in Australian gold and silver.
Pallion entities produce the world’s most Considerate® Precious Metals and the Pallion Arts Program reflects the businesses core ethos of sustainability. By incorporating Australian-sourced gold and silver, maximising acidless refinery practices and minimising carbon impact, Pallion is focused on creating the first sustainable collection of art featuring precious metals.
Abundance
The Pallion Arts Program commenced in 2022 with celebrated Australian artist Lindy Lee. Pallion collaborated with Lindy in creating an artwork entitled Silvern River from Australian silver sourced from Mount Rawdon in Queensland. Lee created the flung artwork onsite at Pallion subsidiary ABC Refinery, and the work is proudly displayed at Pallion’s newest facility, Lilian Fowler, for the Pallion team and clients to enjoy.
Lee is currently working on a pure gold sculpture, titled Abundance, onsite at Pallion, crafted from more than 50kg of pure 100% Australian gold. This artwork takes its inspiration from her public work, Ouroboros, which is Australia’s most significant public art commission to date. Ouroboros will be unviled in 2024 as part of the National Sculpture Garden at the National Gallery of Australia (NGA).
“The Pallion Art Collection will be a democratic collection for all Australians and the world to enjoy. We are thrilled to be launching our Arts Program with Australia’s most significant contemporary artist, Lindy Lee. For the Pallion Group, we see this collaboration with Lindy Lee as the ultimate expression of the Australian spirit – Australian Art combining with the Australian precious metals industry to create a cultural gift for the people of Australia to enjoy.”
Andrew Cochineas, Pallion CEO

Abundance was launched at a private ceremony on August 16, 2024, hosted at Pallion, Marrickville with Lee, Minister for the Arts Tony Burke, and NGA Director Dr Nick Mitzevich in attendance.
Lee has also developed a limited-edition jewellery and objet d’art collection to accompany the launch of Abundance and Ouroboros. The jewellery collection features works crafted in gold and jade handmade by Australian artisans at Pallion’s facilities in Sydney.
Abundance will be officially unveiled at the NGA on October 28, 2024, to coincide with the opening of Lee’s self-titled exhibition.
