ABC Refinery was proud to participate in the 2025 Diggers & Dealers Conference, held in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia – a town celebrated for its rich mining heritage. The mining forum brought together key figures and industry leaders from across Australia and around the globe, including miners, service providers, brokers, banks, and bullion dealers.
This year’s attendance held particular significance, as it provided a platform to highlight ABC Refinery’s collaboration with Westgold Resources, the supplier of the gold used to craft the 2025 Lexus Melbourne Cup. Visitors to the ABC Refinery booth were treated to a screening of ‘Making of an Australian Icon’ a short film showcasing the story, skill, and meticulous craftsmanship behind this year’s Melbourne Cup.
For the first time, ABC Refinery hosted a booth at the conference, featuring a customised 400oz gold bar alongside the 2025 Lexus Melbourne Cup. The display attracted a crowd across the three-day conference, with visitors eager for the opportunity to hold both pieces.
On the second day, the ABC Refinery team attended the Gold Industry Group’s Leadership Breakfast at the historic Kalgoorlie Town Hall. The event featured a special appearance by the Melbourne Cup – manufactured by ABC Refinery’s sister company, ABC Bullion – during the presentation by Wayne Bramwell, Managing Director & CEO of Westgold Resources.
The team participated in a community engagement event in Kambalda, 60 kilometres south of Kalgoorlie, hosted in partnership with Westgold Resources. The Melbourne Cup’s presence drew local residents together in celebration of their deep connection to Australia’s mining industry, fostering a sense of pride and unity that reflects the spirit of the Cup itself.
ABC Refinery’s participation in Diggers & Dealers 202 showcased their commitment to excellence, collaboration, and supporting the communities in the Australian gold industry. ABC Refinery looks forward to returning to Diggers & Dealers in 2026 for another year of collaboration and innovation with Australia’s mining industry.
