Each coin is distinguished by its intricate design and high-quality craftsmanship
ABC Mint proudly announces the exclusive coin series, Untamed Landscapes. Crafted from 999.9 fine ABC Bullion Australian silver, the five-coin collection embodies Oceania’s natural beauty. Each coin is intricately designed and minted to showcase the region’s rich terrain and distinctive fauna, celebrating the artistry of Australian precious metals.
ABC Mint’s Untamed Landscapes series marks a significant milestone in history as the first collection to highlight Oceania’s unique fauna on coinage. The series is united by the Southern Cross, a symbolic and well-known star constellation in the region, with each coin distinguished by its intricate design and high-quality craftsmanship.
The obverse sides of the coins, designed by Tony Dean – renowned for his previous work with the Royal Australian Mint – depict five majestic creatures of the Pacific Islands. Beginning with the Crocodile coin, the Untamed Landscapes series will be released over twelve months, with the Kiwi, Thorny Lizard, Kangaroo and Sailfish coins following in sequence.
The reverse side of the coins features an effigy of King Charles III, sourced from the New Zealand territory of Tokelau, underscoring the collection’s deep connection to Oceania. The effigy has been approved by the relevant authorities, including the territory of New Zealand and Buckingham Palace, highlighting the global significance of this release.
With only 175,000 of each coin minted, the Untamed Landscapes series is set to become a prized addition for coin enthusiasts and investors alike. The coins will be available in various formats, including in visually striking individual blister packs, an ABC Collector’s Box (for the presentation of all five coins), ABC Monster Boxes of 500 single-design coins and rolls of 25 single-design coins. ABC Bullion is the exclusive distributor for consumers, including from the ABC Bullion flagship store in Martin Place, Sydney, while ABC Mint manages sales for distributors.
Ross MacDiarmid AO, former CEO of the Royal Australian Mint, is advising on Untamed Landscapes, bringing his extensive experience and insight to ensure the series is a success both domestically and internationally. With Australia being the third-largest consumer of silver coins globally, following the United States and Germany, MacDiarmid emphasises the importance of showcasing the beauty of Oceania in such a significant way.
“The expertise Ross brings to this collection and his passion for Australian coins on the global stage is invaluable,” said Andrew Cochineas, CEO of Pallion. “His understanding of the industry, combined with Tony’s evocative designs and the highest quality pure Australian silver – refined, minted, and retailed by ABC Bullion – delivers a collection to market that evokes pride in our region and in Australian precious metals products.”

Each coin has legal tender status and carries a face value of NZD $5. The pricing for the Untamed Landscapes series will be determined by the value of the metal plus a modest premium, reflecting market fluctuations in silver prices. As the price point will vary based on market conditions, collectors and investors are encouraged to secure their coins early. For more information and current pricing, visit abcbullion.com.au.
